Matt Sayles Commits to Nazareth College for the 2021/2022 SEASON

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Somerset, NJ – The Protec Jr. Ducks are proud to announce that Junior “A” goaltender Matt Sayles has committed to Nazareth College for the 2021-2022 season.

Sayles, 20, will join the Golden Flyers after an impressive 14-2-0 record backed by a .936 save percentage in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). The Protec Jr Duck expressed his excitement about the decision to join Nazareth.

“I am very excited for the next four years at Nazareth, and I am ready to get to work as a Golden Flyer.”

The Jr. Ducks’ goaltender also mentioned his goalie coach John Zdunkiewicz and Ducks head coach Terry Watt.

“I am grateful for my time with the Jr Ducks, coach Z and coach Watt gave me the opportunity to be successful and I am appreciative of the support and development they provided me during my time with Protec.”

While the Jr. Ducks are in their inaugural season, the squad clinched home-ice advantage for the EHL’s first round of playoffs. It’s arguably no coincidence that Protec finished the 2020-21 campaign on a six-game winning streak.

“Matt made an immediate impact with our club as soon as he walked in our locker room, he brought the confidence and swagger our team need at the right time down the stretch. Our organization is thrilled for Matt, this was a much-deserved commitment from a guy who battles each game to give his team a chance each game”- Coach Terry Watt

Protec is skating in its inaugural season for the EHL and is a member of the league's South Division.
