The Protec Jr. Ducks announced on Friday that the Junior “A” team acquired three forwards via trade and one goaltender from the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

Protec acquired forwards George Fomin (New York Apple Core), Nick Snyder (Philadelphia Little Flyers) and Olivier Charest (NAHL).

Fomin, 20, spent parts of the last two seasons in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and its Premier level. The 6-foot-1 forward dressed for Team Maryland and Apple Core in 2019-20. Last season, Fomin recorded three goals and nine assists in 17 contests for New York.

Snyder netted 19 goals while collecting 53 assists for a total of 72 points in 34 games with Boston. The 20-year-old dressed in seven games for Philadelphia prior to the trade this season.

The right-handed shot in Charest joins the Jr. Ducks after playing most of his career at numerous elite levels in Canada. Additionally, Protec’s NAHL affiliate, Minnesota Magicians, sent the Jr. Ducks goaltender Dakota Meyer. The 5-foot-10 netminder appeared in 26 contests for the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) last season. Meyer, 20, posted 2.86 goals-against-average and .917 Save% with the Thunderbirds.

Protec’s next contest is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 1, when the Jr. Ducks face-off with New York Apple Core for a 12:00 p.m. puck drop at Protec Ponds.
