Brody Selman's prior experience offers 'right' mentality for Jr. Ducks

For Immediate Release

Somerset, NJ – The Protec Jr. Ducks are proud to announce that forward Brody Selman officially signed with the organization’s Junior “A” team.

Selman, 20, joins the Jr. Ducks after spending last season with the New Jersey Rockets of the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC).

The Mahwah, NJ native also dressed for the Omaha “AAA” Hockey Club in 2018-19 and the United States Premier Hockey League's (USPHL) New Jersey Hitmen organization from 2016 until the end of the 2018 campaign. Additionally, Selman recorded 37 points (28g-9a) for the Hitmen’s USPHL Elite squad in 2017-18.

Head coach Terry Watt couldn’t help but acknowledge Selman’s mature approach on and off the ice.

“Brody is a ‘do it right’ guy,” said Watt. “He’s yet another ‘2000’ birth year that we brought in late to help turn things around and shake up our culture in the locker room. Brody is the type of kid that does everything right and he puts in the extra work whether it’s in the gym or working on his skills after practice.”

Watt also believes that there’s a “reason” that Selman skated for a full season in the NCDC last year.

“He shows up every day and puts his work boots on,” said Watt. “Our coaching staff is excited to see what school (collegiate) he ends up at.”

The Jr. Ducks resume action against the Connecticut RoughRiders for an 11:30 a.m. puck drop at the SoNo Ice House on Friday, Oct. 30.
