Protec signs former Jr. Rangers netminder Tristan Fattedad

Somerset, NJ – The Protec Jr. Ducks are proud to announce that goaltender Tristan Fattedad officially signed with the organization’s Junior A team for the 2020-21 season.

Fattedad, 17, joins the Jr. Ducks after dressing for the Connecticut Jr. Rangers in the United States Premier Hockey League's (USPHL) 16U “AAA” level last season. The Riverside, CT native appeared in 18 contests for the Jr. Rangers and is currently one of three netminders between the pipes for Protec.

Head coach Terry Watt expressed his excitement for the youngster.

“I first saw Tristan play at the Minnesota Magicians’ main camp (Jr. Ducks Tier II affiliate) and he stood out to myself and the Magicians’ coaching staff, as he was a 2003 (birth year) playing with confidence and swagger,” said Watt.

Watt also believes that Fattedad’s compete-level benefits the Jr. Ducks' depth in net.

“The kid battles, and he’s very aggressive in his crease,” said Watt. “It’s hard to crack the NAHL (North American Hockey League)  as an ’03 goalie, so the Magicians thought it was best for his development to spend a year with us in the EHL (Eastern Hockey League). Our coaching staff is excited to see what this young man can do this year.”

The Jr. Ducks are one of two expansion teams for the EHL this season and are members of the league’s Mid-Atlantic Conference.
