Junior A team set to expand with its digital content

For Immediate Release

Somerset, NJ – The Protec Jr. Ducks are pleased to announce Kyle McKenna as the Junior A team’s communications manager for the 2020-21 season.

Protec was one of two expansion teams that joined the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) entering the 2020-21 campaign. The Jr. Ducks are based at Protechockey Ponds Ice Center, which is in Somerset, NJ. McKenna’s role entails creating written and digital content for the Junior A team, while also serving as the squad’s broadcaster for all home games.

The New Jersey native spent several seasons working in various communications roles at the professional hockey level prior to joining the Jr. Ducks. Additionally, the Monmouth University graduate (2015), and current EHL Beat Writer, also served as a Media Relations Assistant at the 2018 World Junior Championship in Buffalo.

McKenna’s primary responsibilities for Protec entail producing pregame previews, postgame recaps, gameday graphics, written player features on the team’s site and more. The addition of McKenna was aimed to not only promote the Junior A team and the club’s growth during its inaugural season, but establish a connection with fans, parents, future Ducks and the greater hockey community.

The Jr. Ducks’ home opener is set for Thursday, Oct. 15, at 12:00 p.m.
