The Protec Jr Duck have officially announced that Terry Watt has been named the General Manager and Head Coach for Jr Ducks hockey team at Protec Ponds.
Born and raised in Ajax, ON, Canada coach Watt played his Junior career in both Canada and the USA. Watt wore the "C" for the Walpole Express (AJHL, now known as the EHL) before committing to Buffalo State College (SUNYAC), where he studied business marketing.
Following his collegiate career, Terry played professional hockey on four continents, suiting up for 14 different teams. He also served as a player-coach during a couple of seasons in Europe. During Terry’s pro career he won four championships -- three as a player and one as a coach.
Recently Watt served as a Head Coach & GM for the Professional Woman’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA), where he was coaching/training and working daily with Team USA and Team Canada Olympians. www.pwhpa.com
Off the ice, Terry is known for being the founder and CEO of the OTM Sports Network. OTM (On The Market) is a free hockey career networking tool, designed specifically for the hockey world to land contracts, jobs, recruit, network, gather league information and to follow highlights and news from every hockey league around the world. OTM is the world’s largest free secured site that allows hockey’s elite to advance their careers, share information and stay connected anywhere in the world. www.otmsportsnet.com
“I am extremely excited that we were able to bring a Jr franchise here to the Ducks family. This is no-doubt a game changer for the entire organization and its hockey players. Our Ducks players will now have a direct path to NCAA hockey with the organization they grow up playing for. The EHL is one of the best Jr leagues in all of North America and it is notorious for college commitments, and that’s directly because of its known credibility from college coaches. The purchase of this Junior franchise is a true testament to how dedicated our Protec owners are at ensuring that the Ducks Hockey Club continues to be considered an elite hockey destination for all players and families”. -Terry Watt
